March in Review

March has been such a busy month, with midterms, dramas, and new song releases. While it went by really fast, I felt like a lot of things also happened.

Dramas:
I basically finished four dramas this month: Heartless City, One More Happy Ending, Signal, and Madame Antoine. I also started Come Back Ahjusshi, and we'll see how that goes. I know, Descendants of the Sun is the hype right now, but it didn't seem really interesting to me. Maybe if someone actually watches it and comes back with a positive review, I'll try it out. Looking back, it seems like I really went for the comedy dramas in March. One More Happy Ending and Come Back Ahjusshi were literally rolling-on-the-floor-laughing (like a buffalo) comedy dramas. Madame Antoine was a bit funny at first, but really not my type. After a while, it kind of seemed like a waste of time.

Come Back Ahjusshi!

So after I ranted about finishing three dramas at once and having nothing better to do with my life, I decided to pick up Please Come Back, Ahjusshi. Again, it's more romcom just like One More Happy Ending, but we'll see how it goes. After all, One More Happy Ending only had a few episodes of romcom and the rest was more sad and followed the typical drama storyline.

March 27 - April 2: Songs of the Week

Yay! I'm back and I've been thinking a lot about what to put for these playlists. This is actually the first time I thought for a long time before coming up with a playlist. After a long while, I decided to compile some songs that I believe should have deserved more views and recognition.

1) December - Reason
This is a really good song, but only has a little over 150,000 views. WHY. The first time my sister watched the music video, SHE CRIED. It was pretty sad and touching, but I don't think it's to the point that you would cry.

The Week of K-HipHop Comebacks ft Jay Park, Dean, KittiB

This list isn't actually only K-hiphop; there's other songs too, but I was just surprised how many comebacks there were this week. I just had to include (almost) everyone because I love them so much.

GOT7 - Fly
Suddenly BamBam's Instagram post makes a lot of sense - I had no idea they were even making a comeback, but yay! They're back!

Jay Park - The Truth Is

Thoughts on Show Me the Money

Show Me the Money has brought many rappers to fame, whether they were the winner or eliminated in the preliminary or final rounds. I always talked about how rigged Show Me the Money and Unpretty Rapstar was. I mean, if most of the rounds are based on audience votes, it's got to be pretty biased right? The first time I watched Show Me the Money, it was the third season and I was pretty surprised. In the very preliminary round when the individual producers judge all contestants, it's pretty based on which producer does the judging. Dok2 and The Quiett were really harsh. The contestants would literally just open their mouth and they would walk away after hearing a few seconds.

Signal Review

I'm a week behind for this drama because I watch on Dramafever and it's premium only. So, I have to wait one week before it's available to the public. I don't think I've talked much about this drama before besides the fact that I started watching and it's pretty captivating. So, I started reading this drama on Dramabeans, until episode 6 before I started watching. But don't worry; that one day I had a snow day, I watched the previous 6 episodes that I had just read. I was so hooked on the drama and suddenly Dramafever made it premium only starting episode 10. Ugh, what a big turnoff because it was getting to the best part of the drama.

March 20 - March 26: Songs of the Week

Week 8 is here and we have some older songs that I was thinking about. They're not really really old songs, but definitely has been my favorite sometime in the past.

1) 9Muses - Wild
This was the song that introduced me to 9Muses, and to this day, I still love them.
2) Taeyang - 1AM
I love this song so much more than Ringa Linga.
3) Swings - Fallin'
I remember loving this song because of Jay Park's voice, but overall, it is a good song.

Jessi, Red Velvet, Paloalto & More

Jessi - Excessive Love
I feel like she's working really really hard this year. Jessi came back with Ssenunni and then had Lucky J promotions, and now this. I love her singing voice; sometimes, I think singing matches her more than rapping. But she's also a really strong rapper, so what can I complain about?

Red Velvet - One of These Nights

How I Deal With Drama Withdrawal Syndrome

I'm sure you noticed from all the reviews I've been posting that I finished many dramas all in the same week. So what is it like to withdraw from so many dramas at once? Well, it sucks.

I think the worst part of a drama is finishing the drama and knowing that you have nothing better to do anymore. It used to be worse for me when I only watched one drama at a time. I would get the feeling that the drama I just watched was the best drama in the whole entire world and I couldn't start another one until I get over it. At times, I would miss the drama so much that I would have to rewatch it or at least read recaps for it again. I call it the drama withdrawal syndrome, but I don't actually know if that's actually a thing.

Madame Antoine Review

I honestly started this drama because I was really bored during break one day and I just decided to continue watching since I can't leave dramas open-ended unless it's really bad. The beginning episodes weren't that bad, I liked all the manipulating and whatnot. But, the second half of the drama was so frustrating. The characters kind of just get annoying at some point. The plot is just recycled over and over again. HyeRim falls for SooHyun and SooHyun likes her back, but then he reminds himself that it's just for the sake of the experiment and distances himself by manipulating her to follow through with the experiment. SooHyun is conducting an experiment where women get played by men because SooHyun believes that there is no such thing as true love. There's nothing new to the drama - it's just SooHyun trying to go on with the experiment and understand what love is.

March 13 - March 19: Songs of the Week

After last week with the playlist of OST's, I decided to do a playlist of some awesome collabs and/or featurings.

1) Double K ft Lee Michelle - Rewind
2) Damiano ft Mina - Skyfall
3) Mad Clown ft Hyolyn - Without You
4) Hyolyn x Jooyoung - Erase

Jay Park, Miss $, Lee Hi & More

There's soo many comebacks this week, it's absolutely crazy, especially since I almost had nothing to write last week.

Jay Park - All I Wanna Do
Tbh, I like Jay Park when he sings more than when he raps, but he's great in both.

Miss $ - Don't Speak Without Soul

One More Happy Ending Review

I posted the halfway review earlier because I was so mad about what was happening. I believe I had just finished episode 11 and 12 at that time and those were the worst episodes I had ever watched. I really liked this drama so much that I would watch it before subs even come out and rewatch it again as it is being subbed. It really sucks to me when the episode is full of fluff since I get so impatient. But, after that, we see the main couple get together and I'm glad that we kind of went back into a romcom that it was in the beginning of the drama.

Being a Passive Aggressive Kpop Fangirl

I've talked about being quiet about my drama obsessions and this time I decided to talk about being quiet about my Kpop obsessions. I've never been a outward Kpop fan because I was afraid that everyone would judge me for my tastes. Even to this day, I never really talk about it unless someone brings it up first. To start, I started getting into Kpop around late 2010 - early 2011 (whenever Dream High came out). That was the drama that introduced me to 2PM and it just went on from there. I don't consider myself to be a big fan of any group; I just try to listen to everyone.

March 6 - March 12: Songs of the Week

I am so hyped for this week (week 6). I compiled a list of my favorite OST's and these OST's are really what gets me through my work. I don't know about you, but when I do homework, I have to listen to slower music and OST's are the best ones out there. I mean, it has to be the best right? Since it has to hit you right in the feels at particular moments when you watch a drama. Here goes!

Dasoni, Davichi & More

Dasoni (Solji x Hani) - Only One
I'm not sure if this is the full song, since it's kind of too short for that, but I like it.

Davichi - This Love

Heartless City Review

I know, I'm so late to join the bandwagon - almost 3 years late, but I spent the past few days watching Heartless City, which came out in 2013. Why am I just watching it now? Well, you know. Reasons. I really regret not watching it back then, when my friends were watching it because now, I have no one to talk to about it. And seriously, how can I miss out on such a good drama? I remember actually attempting to read recaps for this drama, but for a drama that has tons of characters, it's literally impossible. But, since Heartless City is a pretty different drama from the others, it's quite interesting to see the actors and actresses play a somewhat different role from the rest of the love stories in Kdrama land.

One More Happy Ending - Half-way Review

This isn't really a halfway review, more like three-quarter review, but you get the point.

I've been talking about how good this drama is, and it definitely was - the first two episodes, that is. After that, I felt like it went all downhill when MiMo falls in love with the doctor at love at first sight. It's stupid, I know. But the show goes on and I believe that everyone loved the doctor at first because of his good looks, but ended up hating him in the recent episodes (starting ep 8(?)) because they realized how selfish and self centered he was. Anyway, I hated the doctor parts because at least, I thought it was stupid. Literally nothing about the doctor (his name is HaeJoon) jumps out to me, and I've always rooted for the main lead (SooHyuk). I was actually watching this drama with my sister and my sister mentioned that he kind of looks like an alien because his eyes are too close together. Hey, we're not making fun of the actor. We're just criticizing him because we don't like his character.
